The Hockanum Valley Ringers are an auditioned community handbell ensemble that began rehearsing together on October 8, 2005. The choir rings five octaves of Malmark handbells, along with three and one-half octaves of chimes. We are committed to promoting the art of English Handbell ringing and providing our audiences with exceptional concerts during the spring and Christmas seasons. Our concerts include a variety of musical styles, from classical and Broadway to pop and jazz, along with a sprinkling of original contemporary music written especially for handbells and handchimes. We perform within the local community and beyond.
Members of the Hockanum Valley Ringers hail from Ellington, Gales Ferry, Manchester, Newington, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, South Windsor, Tolland, Unionville and Vernon. The Hockanum Valley Ringers are currently recruiting experienced ringers to join their choir. If you are interested in being a part of their ensemble, please contact their director, Lawrence Berdensey via phone or email.
